Curry Leaves Dosa

Curry Leaves Dosa is an authentic healthy dosa that is made with curry leaves. Karepaaku in Telugu or Karivepillai in Tamil is a shiny, aromatic and dark green leaves which is used in almost every dish that is prepared.

We think it adds just flavour and we often throw away, but they have numerous health benefits such as fighting cancer, good for eyesight, protect the liver, helps in skin care and the well known hair care etc,. So, it is really important for us to add this in such a way that this is not thrown out of the plate.

This dosa is very easy to prepare and it doesn’t need any fermenting! Do give this a try ☺!!

Serves: 3

Ingredients:

Oil: for making dosa

To Grind:

Curry Leaves: Handful
Coriander Leaves: a little more than a handful
Green Chilli: 3
Ginger: 1” piece
Coconut: ½ cup
Salt: as required

To Soak and Grind:

Raw Rice: ¾ cup
Idli Rice: ¾ cup

Preparation:

Clean, wash and soak the rice together for at least four hours.

Clean the curry leaves and coriander leaves. Peel the skin of the ginger and keep it ready.

Method:

In a mixie/grinder add everything mentioned under ‘to grind’ to a smooth paste adding little water.

Now add the rice and grind to a smooth paste. The consistency of the batter should be like rava dosa (pouring consistency). Now you can make dosa right away!

Heat a dosa tawa, and make dosa like you make rawa dosa. Cover and cook both the sides.
